A short film I directed for the 2008 Film Your Issue competition. This film was intended to touch base on the fear of foreign countries attacking American soil due to our over ambitious and cocky demeanor.
It went on to be a Think.MTV semi-finalist and was featured on the Associated Press video webpage. Its overall theme and backstory has inspired me to write and eventually direct a film entitled “Quiet Decimation”.
Directed by: D.L. Watson
Starring: Brittany Studer & D.L. Watson

Good job D.L, I liked the lighting in this one. Nice to see a live action flick every once in a while, I thought the camerawork was good. Kinda cool how you did the flashes of light from the bombs, although they were a little glitchy in places. Overall though a good look. I also ike how you didn’t show the soldier’s face in the end, leaving a mystery for the viewer. The dialogue by your lead actress was well delivered too. Well done
***** – 5 stars
A great little short with powerful narration, music, and camerawork. The sound design is also incredible, and it lends to the dark, despairing atmosphere. The flashes are, for the most part, highly effective, although if I were to slightly nitpick, a sawdust effect would have been a nice little touch, seeing how the explosions were so loud and close. A great message you convey there, D.L.! Nice work!
Yay for Dreamless!
